As doctors we are public personalities. Yes we are! In our clinics we command authority from our patients and get it too because the patient sitting in the chair knows that the doctor has knowledge and skills that he has acquired after rigorous training and hard work.

In turn we are expected to be sincere and thoughtful and well mannered.

And as far as I think, this is also expected out of the premises of our clinics, may be subconsciously, but the expectation remains the same.

So many of us, while we are in a social gathering, or a celebration, or a party, we need to be careful of not crossing the line. Careful of not behaving in a way that could directly or indirectly affect the sincere clinician’s image that general public have in mind.

Having a good time after a drink or two is no problem but drinking alcohol to an extent where you are lying on the ground or have lost control of your speech or have to be driven back home makes no sense.

So my fellow Gladiators be aware about every single action of yours, a wrong move can hamper years of hard work..
