Good pieces of equipment in Dentistry.

When I started my practice I bought cheap airotors thinking what difference an expensive NSK or Kavo handpiece would make. After all, it is just a handpiece and has to cut the tooth.

So, for 7- 8 years, I kept using these cheap Chinese handpieces, spoiled many, and bought many new ones.

And then one day a very close friend of mine, also a dentist, after hearing my sob story of changing an airotor every three months, forced me to buy NSK handpiece. Boy Oh Boy, that is the day dentistry changed forever.

This magical wand cuts the tooth like a hot knife going through butter! My crown prep time was reduced by half, this one had power and torque. I was able to cut through metal ceramic crowns in the blink of an eye.

That is the day I realised, how important it is to not cut corners when it comes to good equipment. They reduce your effort manifold and make you efficient. Good pieces of equipment are a necessity. Never shy away from buying them!
