Is your dental assistant STEALING from you ? (Part 1)

Let me ask you a few questions :

1) Are you someone who does not come from a business background and you are a first generation business owner in your family?

2) Are you someone who is a little forgetful by nature, like you forget where you have kept your specs/keys/mobile/watch somewhere and then you keep searching for it?

Everyone in your family including your clinic staff knows about it and now it has become known to them that my papa/mummy/husband/wife/sir/ma'am forgets where they keep their things and whenever this happens you become the center of their joke?

3) You feel very shy talking about money with patients/close relatives when they get treatment done in your clinic?

4) Have you ever felt that though I am working my ass off but the money which comes in my hand is lesser than expected.

5) In long cases like FMR or Implants which keep going on for a few months, you have felt that some part of the payment was due but when you ask the assistant or the receptionist they said that "sir/ma'am you have forgotten, we already took that amount from them that day" and then like a dumb ass you thought that you have become forgetful these days.

6) You take pride that you are an amazing employer and your clinic staff has been with you for years. You boast in your friend circle that how they are like your family and laugh at them when they say that they are not able to retain people.

7) You do not even remember how many healing caps/impression copings you have ordered but they are always falling short in the clinic.

8) The consumables like gloves just keep coming in....

If you are nodding head in agreement to few of the above asked questions then you need to read this post carefully because if you do, you will either save yourself or your friends from the financial and emotional loss that I went through.

This post is for everyone, whether you are a seasoned practitioner or just a few days old in your practice, it doesn't matter !!

Yes, the staff is like your family, they take care of your patients and do your odd jobs when you require, but have you asked yourself this question -

Why are they doing this work since so many years in your clinic when you hear attrition of staff in all other businesses.

People usually switch their jobs in search for greener pastures, so that they can earn more and more but here is your dental assistant-not leaving the job since 5/10/15/25 years.

Is he not driven by money or has he fallen in love with the gentle kind person that has employed him in the clinic that is YOU.

Think about it for two seconds !
